Become A Paid Premium Blogger On Other People’s Sites

There is always a lot of talk about writing your own blog but what about the opportunities that exist for writing blogs for other people?

There are a number of ways you can do this and you could pick the one that appeals most to you or even do a combination of all of them if you wish. There are some people around who really do blog for a living, and not all of the money they earn is from their own monetized blogs.

All you need to know is how to do it and where to look for opportunities…

First off, there are a number of sites that allow you to write for their own network of blogs. A typical example of this is Creative Weblogging. This site has a number of blogs that it manages, and subject to opportunities being available you can apply to manage and write for one of their blogs in return for an agreed payment every month.

You do need to show that you have some experience so you’ll need to set up a blog if you don’t already have one and keep it up to date for a month or two before you apply. Alternatively they do sometimes elect to add new blogs to their network so you can always contact them if you have one you think they would like.

Another option is to write for other companies on your own blog. Websites such as Pay U 2 Blog use this kind of system and it works very well if you want to add another income stream to your own blog.

But if you would rather write for an existing blog – or at least one that is run by someone else – then you can also look for existing job opportunities. More people than you might think are willing to get someone else to write their blog for them. You would be ghostwriting it as each entry would appear under their name, but you will usually get paid per entry for a fixed number of entries per week or per month.

If you market yourself as a premium blogger in this way, there is no reason why you can’t eventually take on several blogs and start doing it full time. Blogging for a living like this is a great job to do as there will always be success stories online that are looking for someone else to write their blog for them. You can have lots of jobs on the go and even if you should lose one or two you won’t notice a significant dip in your income.

The best places to look for work writing other peoples’ blogs are the sites where you bid on work offered by other people, and also in the writing websites job boards. Craigslist is also worth a look, and there are also some ghostwriting teams that have websites advertising for people to write blogs for clients.

Once you get started it doesn’t actually take that long to find work – you just need to keep at it. And with a combination of finding work yourself, working for a site like Creative Weblogging and working for a ghostwriting outfit you could soon be blogging for a living.

One final point – just as Creative Weblogging advises, if you want to become a professional blogger for other people it helps to have plenty of blogging experience. So it’s worth setting up at least one blog of your own if you haven’t already got one.

Time to get started! But leave a comment by using the form below first.

advertisers, you will get the required code to place on your Blog or
website. It is as simple as that!

Pay Per Impression Affiliate Programs

Pay per impression affiliate program means that you are

thousand.

For e.g. - if your CPM is $10, it means that you will be paid $10 for
every 1,000 displays or impression of the advertiser’s banner.

This may sound like you may not make good money but if you have a lot of
traffic to your website or blog then it will add up to good and big
money.

How to Create a Killer Auction for Selling Your Website

How to Create a Killer Auction for Selling Your Website

What makes one web site sell for more than others? Sure, it almost always has to do with the amount of revenue a web site makes and how popular it is, but it also comes down to how well you lay out your auction listing. The difference between creating a regular listing versus a killer listing could be thousands of dollars, or even 10 to 20 times your monthly earnings.
Please note: You have less then 48 hours to grab Zac’s Book!

1.) Post Your Auction on Your Web Site

Who knows your web site more than your audience? Depending on the type of web site you are selling, it might be a great idea to make it aware to your visitors that your site is for sale. If you have an internet marketing blog, there is a good chance your readers might be interested in buying your site. However, if you ran a entertainment or celebrity web site, it would be less likely your audience would want to buy your site.

2.) Provide All Web Stats Reports and Google Analytics

I can not stress how important it is to make sure all of your web stats are up to date and in order. Google Analytics is the platform of choice when it comes to web stats, and Flippa can also verify the legitimacy of Google Analytics. If you are using a different tracking system, I advise you to include Google Analytics in your tracking as well. By providing Analytics, potential buyers of your web site can see where your traffic is coming from based on search engines and geographic location, along with how long they are staying on your web site in addition to other criteria.
flippa traffic How to Create a Killer Auction for Selling Your Website

3.) Breakdown All Revenue Methods

Just as important as your web site stats, the revenue and financial earnings of your web site will play a big part in the final sale price of your web site. Break down your monthly revenue by source and as far back as you can possibly go. Many web sites sell for 15-20 times their monthly earnings. This can vary depending on the niche and quality of your site, but providing as much financial information as possible will help you get the most for your web site.

4.) Reply to All Questions and Comments

Personal contact and correspondence goes a long way when it comes to buying and selling web sites. More than anything else, it’s a business transaction, but trust also comes in to play. Make sure you take the time answer all questions and comments in detail, and also quickly as possible. Web site auctions have a time limit and not everyone will have time to wait for your answers before placing a bid. Don’t miss out on a high bid because you were too busy to respond to questions and comments in your auction thread.

5.) Reach Out to Webmaster Forums

Just like I mentioned it’s sometimes a good idea to post on your web site that an auction is for sale, it’s also a good idea to visit popular web site and webmaster forums. Web site owners are always looking to expand their business and portfolio of web sites, and your site may be a perfect fit for someone else. If you are already active and have a good reputation in a forum, it can definitely go a long way with other members and users of the forum, helping in the potential sale of your web site.

Become a Web Site Flipping Master

flipthiswebsite small How to Create a Killer Auction for Selling Your WebsiteUsing these same principles and finding under monetized web sites, which I like to call “hidden gems”, I’ve been able to buy and sell over six figures worth of web sites over the years. Flippa has become the worlds largest market place for buying and selling web sites.
I just finished writing “Flip This Web Site: How to Buy, Improve and Sell Web Sites on Flippa“, a comprehensive 150+ page guide that walks you through the whole process of creating a new web site, finding and buying under monetized web sites and becoming a site flipping master. I would like to invite you to take a look at my new book along with the bonus video series I am including for a limited time.

Increase Earnings by Organizing Your Affiliate Information

How many times have one of the following situations happened to you?
  • You’re about to write a post and mention an affiliate product, then have to spend time to look for the affiliate link for it.
  • You’re in need of a new banner for an affiliate product, but have no clue where to get it.
  • You’re curious about your earnings for an affiliate product that isn’t under the umbrella of a major network, so you have to search for the affiliate site login, figure out your username, reset your password, and so forth.
  • You’re watching your Twitter stream and see someone asking for opinions on an affiliate product that you wrote a review for sometime last year, so now you have to find that review post.
  • You’re just shy of your next payout on Clickbank and want to do a little push on all of the affiliate products you have under that network, but their promo materials are spread out all over the place.
While some of these things don’t take a lot of time, I’d bet there have been situations where you passed including that affiliate link, banner, checking your stats, tweeting your review post, or making several product pushes because you were too busy to mess around with tracking the information down.
To avoid this kind of problem in the future, why not get all of your affiliate marketing information all in one place? My favorite way to organize is simply using Google Docs. It’s free with your Google Account, and it’s accessible wherever you go, from your desktop at work to your laptop at home or your iPad to your Android when on the go without messing around with USB drives or wishing you were on a different device.

The Ultimate Affiliate Marketing Organizer

The following are important pieces of information I have in my Google Spreadsheet to organize my affiliate marketing resources.
affiliate marketing organizer Increase Earnings by Organizing Your Affiliate Information
Product Name – Simply the affiliate product name.
Contact (name, email, twitter) – I find that it’s best to keep track of who to contact when you have questions or concerns about a particular affiliate product or program. Most are happy to help you if it means you’re going to promoting their product! I’d also suggest following your favorite affiliate product creators on Twitter – it’s a great way to see if there are any updates to the products, sales, etc. coming that they might not have notified their affiliates about via email.
Niche – If you do affiliate marketing for more than one niche, then this will allow you to filter your programs just for one particular niche when promoting via blog posts, Twitter, and other avenues.
Type – Chances are, your affiliate products are made up of eBooks, events, membership programs, courses, plugins, themes, applications, and so forth. I like having mine distinguished that way if I’m specifically wanting to write a post on top WordPress plugins or themes, I can just filter those types in my spreadsheet.
Network – Most of your affiliate products may fall under major networks like Clickbank, E-junkie, ShareASale, and other major affiliate networks, but you can also include links to those that have their own proprietary network.
Vendor ID – Clickbank, for example, has a Vendor ID for different affiliate programs which you can see in reporting. It’s good to have as a quick reference when you’re looking through your earnings reports.
Login & Password – Nothing is more frustrating than having to find login information. I wouldn’t suggest putting your full password in an online document, but instead maybe hints to your password as some networks require funky passwords with caps and special characters while others limit you to a certain amount and specific types of characters.
Product Price – If you are an affiliate for more than one eBook and have the chance to promote just one for a particular occasion, this might help you decide which to choose based on the audience. If you think they’re big spenders, go with the highest priced item. If not, go with the lowest priced one.
Minimum & Maximum Commission – When you’re looking to increase your earnings, the amount you’ll make off a product will definitely influence your decision on how much promotion to do for the product. The more you could make, the more you will probably want to promote it!
Promo Materials, Login & Password – While affiliate products on ShareASale have their banners and suggested text links on that affiliate network, products on other networks such as Clickbank and E-junkie tend to have offsite promotion material links. Some of these are available to the public while others are behind a separate login. Finding these materials (banners, swipe files, etc.) has always driven me insane, so having the links all in one place can be a lifesaver!
Affiliate Link (full & Bit.ly) – Depending on where you want to share your affiliate link, you might want to grab the full thing or just one that you have customized on Bit.ly or another URL shortener of your choice. Note that you’ll also want to follow affiliate program emails religiously and periodically check up on your affiliate links as some products might change affiliate networks. Nothing bites worse than making a sale and then losing the commission simply because the new affiliate network can’t track the old links (but can conveniently still make the sale).
Blog Link – If you use plugins like Ninja Affiliate for WordPress that converts your affiliate links to something more customized, then you can stick that customized URL here.
Review Post (full & Bit.ly) – If you have a review post for a product, you’re more likely to make more income from it. Hence, you’ll want to link to the full URL for the review post in your writing and occasionally reshare the shortened one on Twitter. This will help you keep track of those links.
Video – Videos make for great promotional content – especially if your video shows how easy a particular affiliate product is to use, such as setting up a plugin or WordPress theme. Keep your video links handy to push in a post or share with someone asking questions about a particular product and be sure that your review post link is in the video description.
Minimum Payout – Just something nice to know if you want to figure out how far you need to go to get paid again.
Earnings – Want to know how successful you are with your affiliate programs? Then track your earnings! Networks like Clickbank will let you run earnings reports from the last year, and E-junkie will let you see affiliate-specific earnings from the past few years (mine goes back through 2006). This will give you a good idea which products your audience loves and which ones, no matter how much you push them, are just not making enough income to be worth it.
Updated – This friendly column will remind you if it’s about time to check your earnings, links, etc. to make sure there’s nothing new you need to know about.

Get This Spreadsheet on Google Docs

If you’re not in the mood to create this spreadsheet from scratch, never fear! You can view the Google Docs’ spreadsheet online. If you are signed into your Google account, simply use the File > Save option to save it to your documents and start filling it in with your information.
Excel and Open Office Versions
If you don’t have Google Docs, or would prefer to save it on your local machine, go to the Google Docs version and use the File > Download As to save it as your desired file type. I’d suggest Open Office or Excel if possible for functionality.
Filtering
In the Google Docs version, you don’t need to do anything – just use the arrows on each column to sort / filter. If you download it in another version, be sure to add the Filter back to the header row so you can sort / filter specific information using the arrows. In Microsoft Excel 2007, select the first row and use the Filter option on the Home tab under Sort & Filter. In Open Office Calc, select the first row and use the AutoFilter option under Data > Filter in the menu bar.

    To Your Blogging Success,

Money making options for those who have a blog

If you have an active blog where you write about your favorite topics on a regular basis then you have the following possibilities to make money out of it.

    Standard Advertisements

    Pay-Per-Click (PPC) ads:
Indisputably Google AdSense is the first option for PPC advertising. AdSense will work for almost for all blogs regardless of its size, age, content. Google usually approves all types of blogs for AdSense publishing, even those blogs that are hosted for free (e.g. yourblog.blogspot.com). Of late, though, they are very strict about approving rather new blogs (say less than 6 months old).
    Google AdSense
If things did not work with AdSense and/or if you want to try a different PPC network, then your next option is Chitika. In fact, you can also have both AdSense and Chitika co-existing on the same page provided you demarcate them. Chitika recently launched Chitika Premium ads that shows ads relevant to the user searches (and shown only to the search users from US/Canada) and this improves the CTR (Click-Through-Rate) and EPS (Earnings Per Click).
    Chitika
You can compare the features of ad networks using our money maker comparison tool DollarShower Comparator.
    Pay-Per-Impression (PPM) ads:
Unfortunately smaller or beginner blogs do not get approved by majority of the premium PPM/CPM networks. By using AdSense banners, you also get paid for your impressions however it is not a proper PPM solution. You can go for premium CPM networks as and when your blog grows significantly with a few thousand page impressions per day.
However, the BuySellAds blog ad network offers you excellent flat rate banner advertisement options and they pay reasonably well as well (75% payout to publishers). You might want to check out this network once your blog starts getting traffic. Another comparable blog ad network is AdvertiseSpace.com which has 70% payout.
    BuySellAds
(You may read the post on various ad compensation methods to understand how ad networks compensation models work)

    Writing paid reviews or posts

Once your blog has a reasonable number of readers (feed as well as direct readers) and decent page and traffic ranks, you may start writing paid reviews on your blog. Though there are a number of paid review services, the one that is working for us right now is SponsoredReviews. In order to get the right type of review assignments at the right prices, please make sure that you list your blog in the right category and start with a low pricing based on your blog page rank.
    Sponsored Reviews
You can search for other Get-Paid-To review services using Dollarshower Product Finder. Please note that sometimes Google penalizes the blogs, that posts paid reviews, by reducing their page ranks (PR).

Once your blog gets a reasonable Google page rank (Say PR3 or above), you can actually start charging a few bucks per month per link that is added to your blog. Forums are the best place to sell your blogroll or links and you may check this Digital Point forum thread for your link sales. Also check out the thread on ad sales and services.
If your page rank is reasonably good (Say PR3 or above), you can make a lot of money by selling your links via Text Link Ads or via private ads sales of your banners if traffic is good as well. If the number of RSS readers is significantly high, your feed can be monetized as well as Google Ads for feed (Please note that, while profitable, selling text links comes with the risk of potential drop in page ranks)
    Text Link Ads
However, as a beginner, you may not have a great page rank for your blog. In this case, second tier link sales services such as Backlinks.com can be definitely of help. I have used their services in the past and it works for you to sell your links on homepages as well as Google indexed inner pages. Pricing per link is not as good as Text-link-ads but your blog usually gets approved faster.

Private ad sales – Sell your own ad slots

Private ad sales on your blog can be completely automated via the OIO Publisher WordPress Plugin and you can get advertisers via their marketplace. The OIO Publisher plugin will cost you $47 but that will be a great investment as you can recover it in one month or less. Check out our OIO Publisher review post to buy your OIO Publisher copy for the least possible price (as low as $20 sometimes).

    Affiliate programs and referral links

Affiliate programs can fetch you very good Pay-Per-Sale or Pay-Per-Lead based commission. You can search for top affiliate networks using DS ProdFinder. Along with affiliate links and banners you could use your ad networks’ referral links to maximize your revenue. Amazon and Yahoo Affiliate programs are among the best though Yahoo (via Commission Junction) does not approve affiliates that easily.
If you want to promote a wide range of products online (rather than specific products such as Yahoo’s), you need to sign up with a affiliate marketing agency such as Commission Junction, ShareASale or ClickBank (all of them are highly recommended). If you are from India and would like to promote affiliate products in India, it’s recommended that you read our post titled best affiliate programs in India.
Please note that the income generated via ads, text link sales, affiliate networks, paid reviews etc will depend on a lot of parameters such as the quality of content, content update frequency, traffic generated, various traffic & page ranks, how well your pages are optimized for search engine visibility etc. It is really possible to make online if you focus on the above aspects, especially during initial phases. Do not try too hard to achieve everything in the first two or three months – it does not work that way! Also, try to maximize your earnings via referring others as either publishers or advertisers.

    2. Making money without a blog

The following are some methods to make money online without having a blog of your own.
    • Paid data entry and freelance content creation jobs
    • Forum posting and blog commenting to get paid
    • Paid-To click ad sites
    • Get paid to do online surveys
    • Online Forex trading
    • Sell things on eBay

    Online Content creation opportunities

You can avail content creation, freelance writing, data entry opportunities as well as forum posting/commenting assignments at this Digital Point forum thread or similar forums.
Please read my post on work from home content creation jobs to learn more on how to make money online via this route.

    Paid to click ads

There are paid-to-click services that I used long time ago. But these are only for those who don’t mind spending time to view ads by clicking links and the earnings are not that great (but definitely they are not scams). I am not following such networks any longer, though.

Make money online via survey programs

A lot of people believe that online surveys are the easiest way to make big money online. While there are one or two legitimate survey schemes, most others are scams. Some of the legitimate survey sites are listed in my post that talks about online surveys. Another scam that has hit the web lately is the so-called affiliate rebate processor work-from-home option.
Talking about making money online via content creation, my friend Ebele has written a wonderful eBook titled Writing Online: 3 Tried and Tested Ways To Make Money. This 21 page FREE eBook explains three content creation methods that fetched her more than $3500 in the first year itself starting at $60 in Jan 2008 to as high as $600 per month by year end. You might want to download this eBook which also provides several resources and links on where to find content creation opportunities. I have read this eBook, verified the links that she has provided and highly recommend the same for those who are interested in making money online via writing.

    Online Forex Trading

Yet another make money from home opportunity is via trading currency online. Online Forex Trading is a big time opportunity with its associated risks. You may read the my post on Forex Trading for beginners to learn more about the same.

    Selling things on eBay

If you have any products (gifts, toys, cards, bags, clothes, electronics whatever it may be) to sell in your regular offline business, you can leverage that further by going online. By becoming an ebay seller, you can start selling your products online by sitting at the luxury of your home. You may check out the ebay website for more details on how to become an ebay seller.

    3. How to receive your Income?

Most advertisers and networks use PayPal to send you your online earnings. Hence you may sign up with a FREE PayPal account now instead of waiting till the time somebody ask to provide this information. PayPal is a completely reliable and safe money transfer mechanism.

    4. Create your own blog…

If you intend to set up a professional blog, this series on setting up a blog may help you to achieve that goal thereby opening up a window of opportunities to make more money online.

Though authority blogs (blogs with huge traffic driven via a few 100 or thousands posts) are the right way to make money, there are also several mechanisms such as Google sniper to help you make money online via 5 to 10 page small websites. Then there’s autoblogging whereby blog posts are auto-generated out of open literature available on the web. These strategies may work for short term but such sites and shortcuts may not be sustainable from a long term perspective. And they may not be following good content publishing ethics either.

    Make money using affiliate programs

Affiliate programs offer more money making opportunity than most other programs, including ad publishing. Though both are in a way related there is no apple-to-apple comparison possible here as the compensation method is totally different.

Affiliate marketing – How does it work?

Like in the case of ad marketing there are three parties here as well. The ‘vendor or merchant’ (e.g. DELL Computers) is the person who wants to sell his products via web-based marketing. He has the opportunity to place ads but that alone doesn’t fetch too many results. So he goes the affiliate way of marketing whereby he signs up with an ‘Affiliate Network’ (e.g. Commission Junction) who has in turn signed up hundreds of thousands of ‘Affiliates’ (that’s people like bloggers, website owners) all around the world. The affiliates display the vendor’s sale items on their pages. The type of products and services to be placed on these pages can be selected by the affiliates based on his geographic location, blog type etc. At the same time the advertisers has the opportunity to select his affiliates based on their marketability. So it is kind of a mutual consent mechanism for optimum sale opportunity. If a reader of the blog clicks on these sale ads and goes to the vendor site the information such as the affiliate network and affiliate involved is recorded. If that person (reader) ends up buying the particular product a portion of the sale proceeds or a fixed amount is given to the affiliate, that is you as a blogger!!!
Some affiliate networks (and even publishers who have newsletters, eBooks etc) also market via emails (email marketing) whereby the adlink to click would contain the affiliate information. (Affiliate marketing and email marketing are various business models of Internet marketing)

    Why is it better?

Affiliate programs are better than ad programs as there is an opportunity to select the target audience, prospects etc based on locations, culture, sex, age group etc. Also the commission that comes out of a sale is huge, sometimes it is as high as 50% of the sales amount. Even if the sale doesn’t happen, some vendors pay affiliate for generating leads. The revenue sharing concept is transparent in the case of affiliate networks where as it is not that known in ad programs. Sometimes it is not commission based but a fixed amount per deal. In either case, the amount you are going to earn is usually known to you while browsing the available products, vendors, links etc at the network site.
As a publisher or affiliate you know exactly what you are going to display, which is not the case with many ad programs, especially the context based ads. This is one of the major advantages for you because you can select to display high paying or fast moving items.

    How do I?

All that you need to do to be an affiliate is to sign up with one of the affiliate networks (A few are mentioned on this blog as well) providing your details. Once you signed up you can browse the network site to pick your advertisers, ads etc. Some advertisers automatically approve you as a publisher but some need to do it manually which might take couple of days. Once you get the products links, you can paste the respective code/script on your site and you are ready to sell for them and make money! As I mentioned earlier, some of them work via emails as well.

    Tips

    • As much as possible be specific on selecting the target audience and ads specific to that. If you select generic products and all locations you may not generate too many sales, leads or money
    • Do not select to display too many products
    • It is advisable to have one affiliate ad per page than displaying many. Even if you opt for more than one, let no more than one be animated
    • Keep track of the leads/sales generated regularly by visiting the affiliate network site
    • Use your website statistics on information such as geography of your readers, average time spent per page, most read pages etc to select ads for regions and displaying them on the popular pages
    • Refer further affiliates or publishers to make more money as you get commission for even sales generated by your referrals
    • If your friends are known to be going for certain shopping for which an affiliate link exist on your site, get him to buy it through that link

Make money with-- Get Paid To click ads

Take The Globe (TakeTheGlobe) is a relatively new advertisement initiative. It is not an ad network but more like a Get-Paid-To view ads program. I have known the person behind this effort via the DP forums when I wanted to purchase some initial traffic to this blog (In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the DollarShower.com ad link is still displayed there)
    How does it work?
TTG is for both advertisers and ad-viewers. Advertisers with TTG are usually those who purchase traffic to their websites – not necessarily quality traffic which give them referral sign up, ad clicks etc – but more like human hits with the intention of improving alexa ranking, CPM ad impressions etc. TTG makes sure that their ads are displayed at least for 20 seconds without which the viewers don’t get paid. Basically they work with a different segment of advertisers.
Normal members (Ad viewers) are those who click and view the ads and get paid for the same. The payment per click is as follows:
    Payment per click: $0.005
    Clicks by your referrals: $0.0025
There is also something called a premium membership for which you have to pay an amount for signing up. Though premium members get paid double as much as what the normal ones make, I did not find it compelling enough. For practical money making purpose, normal membership will do. The number of ads you can click per day is not restricted though I got to see only around 50 ad links or so during my first few logins.
    TakeTheGlobe
The minimum payout is $10 and all payments are done via AlertPay (a payment service like PayPal) only. If you don’t have an AlertPay membership, you may sign up with them using this link or the banner below. An AlertPay account is handy for future use as well.

How to sign up with TTG?
Sign up is a very easy process where you need to just furnish your name, email address, alert pay email and the id of person you referred you. As soon as you sign up, you can start making money by clicking ad links and referring your friends. TTG make sure that each and every sign up is done via an existing member only and hence you have to
provide this information while signing up. You may use my TTG id – edassery – to sign up or alternatively click here.
    Testimonials
You can read a number of testimonials with proof of payments here. Looks like making a couple of dollars per week during your free time or as a background activity may not be an issue where as with a few referrals your earnings actually multiply (I am not talking about 100s of dollars)
Happy ad clicking and let me know if you actually made some pocket money out of it…
